I don’t know if many of you feel this way, but I am especially lazy to bring along my entire makeup cleansing set when travelling, not to mention tons of cotton squares too. So, many of my friends were telling me about this Biore makeup wipes and how good it is so I’ve decided to give it a try.

The wipes comes in a box pack which includes the packet of 48 wipes. You can also get a refill once it runs out and place it in the box for easy storage and access. The box has a pop up cover so that the wipes don’t dry out.

The Wipes
The thickness of each piece is just right – not too thin that it tears easily, and not too thick to be overly wasteful. Each piece contains enough solution to remove makeup easily, and yet not too soggy. Hate the feeling of soggy wipes that oozes liquid when pressed too hard. The number of pieces you use depends on how thick your makeup is. For simple day makeup to school or work, usually 1 piece will suffice. Well, unless you pile on tons of concealor and foundation which is a no-no in the day.

I’ve tested the wipes on a fully made up face with waterproof eyeliner, foundation, cream blusher, layers of eyeshadow and fake eyelashes. I just came back from a Shu Uemura event (which I will blog about as soon as I get more photos) and I was testing out their makeup, hence the additional layers of eyeshadow and glitter. Here is a before photo of me.

I used the wipes to clean out all my makeup, not just my eyes. For one, I liked the fact it is very gentle on the eyes. I could clean to the innermost reaches of my eye and it did not sting one bit! I used more wipes than I should because I had to remove eyelash glue and that is quite a pain to get rid of. The wipes were not oily and doesn’t leave this yucky oily feeling on my eyes and face which I tend to get when using oil-based eye makeup remover to remove stubborn waterproof eyeliner and mascara.

Here’s a photo of after removal.

After removing using the wipes After removing using the wipes

My face was makeup free and even after a shower, I did not have any black panda-like residues which tends to happen when eyeliner or mascara is not removed properly. Even before washing with facial wash, my face did not feel oily or sticky. It’s really awesome!

To use this on an everyday basis is not very cost effective. 48 pieces refill cost about RM25.90 which means it is approximately 1 pack for a month depending on how often you remove makeup. However, if you have very sensitive eyes or have an OCD about face cleanliness, then this could be a good product for you. As for travelling purposes, this is definitely a really good buy. By the way, these wipes are different from your usual hand wipes; please don’t confuse them.

I usually tend to go to the gym after work and before exercising, of course it is vital to remove your makeup first. So this is also really good for situations like this. If you think the pack of 48 pieces is too bulky, you can also opt for the mini pack of 10 which is going for RM6.90.
