If you have not watched Wind Chimes in a Bakery web series, I truly recommend this short Malaysian-made, Korean-directed love story by Samsung Galaxy S4. On the week where the finale of the series was to be aired, I was invited to the exclusive screening by Samsung Malaysia at GSC Pavilion Kuala Lumpur where we were shown all 7 episodes and the finale – episode 8 – all in one full show. It was great!
When Boyfie and I arrived at the cinema, we were quite amazed; it did not look like a cinema! It was as if a bakery was transplanted right smack in the middle of a cinema. At first I thought the buns and baked goods were fake, until I was told that they are actually edible. LOL. (I accidentally kinda poked one as I thought it was fake).
I loved how Samsung changed the entire venue to look like a bakery in a cinema. They even replaced the “Now Showing” lightboxes with posters of Wind Chimes in a Bakery. It’s all about paying attention to detail and I think that it’s awesome! Right to picket fences, flower planters and a bicycle.
I met my cousin there at the event too. She’s one of the producers for the web series and I think it was a job well done. They actually shot this series in a flurry and although it was a tight schedule, turned out pretty well I must say. Koe Yeet “Sue” and Nabil “Adam” was also around and they were the centre of attention; everyone wanted a photo with them. Loved the clothing though, and Koe Yeet’s hairdo for the day.
I noticed they were both wearing blue, Samsung’s official colours. Clever!
We were then ushered into the cinema and were given popcorn and Coke. Even the popcorn was placed in Wind Chimes in a Bakery packaging. Thought it was pretty cute. Somehow the popcorn for this event had more caramel than what I usually get at the concession stand so I actually ate all of it.
I am really upset that I accidentally deleted the video I took of violinist Dennis Yau playing the beautiful opening theme song of the Wind Chimes in a Bakery series. Sigh. It was really nice but it is gone! I am so sorry I could not share with all of you the video. (T^T)
By the way, the goodie bag I got at the end of the event was awesome! Had the infamous red bean buns, an apron and the best of all, the same dangly red bean bun phone accessory seen hanging on Sue’s Samsung S4 in the series! Woo hoo!!! Very limited edition and very glad I was lucky enough to get it. (^_^)
Anyway, here are some photos I took of the event. And if you have not watched Wind Chimes in a Bakery, please watch it! I actually kinda cried. (^///^)
