The Bag of Love is a little different from the usual beauty box subscription as it comes in a little toiletry bag instead of a box. I got a hold of this bag during the unzipping party at Delectable by Su, organized by Butterfly Project. According to Mi Mi of Bag of Love, she mentioned that in this edition, the theme was eco-friendly, hence the name of this edition “The Green Bag”.
1) The bag itself
The bag is sturdy and custom made by Bag of Love. Made out of unbleached canvas, it follows the theme of being eco-friendly. I loved the personalized label inside made of unwoven material with Bag of Love inscribed on it. It gives the entire thing a personal touch instead of something mass produced. Since it doesn’t look too girlish (other than the words “Little Beauty Bag” on the outside), I probably can use this for my boyfriend’s toiletries. It is amazing how many things a guy needs as well. Haha.
2) The Body Shop Quiet Night Dreamy Pillow & Body Mist (60ml)
This is my favourite item in the bag. It smells really soothing; not too strong and not sweet which makes it a really great smell to have on your pillow for a good night’s rest. I’ve always wanted to get a pillow mist but was never sure which would be a good smell. Well, this was a good time to try it out and so far it smells great! The size of the bottle in the beauty bag was a decent size of 60ml so it was quite worth it. The standard size of 100ml costs RM59 from The Body Shop, so this 60ml bottle is a pretty good deal.
3) Definite Contour Brush
Another goodie found in the bag is this contouring brush by Definite. I love brushes. I feel a girl can never have too many makeup brushes and since I don’t have a contouring brush to play with – I’m learning how to contour the face with makeup recently; face too round – this is great.
The bristles are soft and feels good on the face. I have not tried using it yet; you know how it is with new stuff. Haha. This is a full size makeup brush and retailing at RM88.
4) Phytojoba Intense Hydrating Shampoo (50ml)
This shampoo is meant for dry hair. It smells pretty good (a mild coconut smell) and I love the packaging. I’ve always liked aluminium packaging in comparison to plastic ones. One is that it is eco friendly and secondly, it looks very clean and trendy. I can also reuse the container since it won’t spoil as easily as plastic and doesn’t leak. I have tried the shampoo; it doesn’t lather much and it is a little watery, so be careful when you pour it out as you might pour out too much. A 200ml bottle is retailing at RM88.
5) Nuxe Brightening BB Cream SPF30/PA+++ (15ml)
Another BB cream. I think it is the trend now to use BB creams. I have quite a number of those and I tend to use these only for light coverage. Anyway, this Nuxe BB Cream, feels a little too thick if you do not know how to apply. All you need is a pea size amount for your entire face. Too much and it becomes way too sticky which is what happened to me when I squirted a little too much out. The stickiness doesn’t go away even after a while. This is retailing in a 30ml tube for RM120.
6) Burt’s Bees Richly Replenishing Cocoa & Cupuacu Butters Body Lotion (6.5g)
This is a small sample of the body lotion but I like how this is packaged. The amount is probably not even enough to cover my upper body. Haha. But I suppose it is to test the texture and smell. I have yet to open it since I have yet to want to put body lotion so I can’t really tell you how it is like. A 170ml tube is retailing for RM62.80. But usually, with dry skin, you can’t go wrong with cocoa butter. Only problem is usually more of it tend to get transferred on to the bed.
7) Signature Aromaplasty Facial @ RM98 from Decleor
According to Mi Mi, the aromaplasty facial here is really good. The voucher is for a 1 hour and 45 minutes facial, and normally priced at RM230. So the voucher is pretty worth it. I probably will go for it once I got enough money this month. Haha.
